This course will overview the essential concepts in statistics. Students learn how populations can be described by samples and mathematical calculations. The importance of measures of central tendency is emphasized. Probability, sampling techniques, confidence intervals and hypothesis testing are also covered. The broad goal of this course is to help the student become a better consumer of information and to further develop understanding of statistical concepts related to other courses and subject areas.
