Jazz Band I

This course is designed to broaden students’ knowledge of musical horizons through jazz band music. Emphasis is placed upon student participation in a variety of performance and rehearsal situations. Students will learn to appreciate not only contemporary styles of jazz music, but also jazz standards and original compositions through performance and listening.

Prerequisites: Experience playing an orchestra instrument; enrollment is by audition only
