Chemistry

Course Number: #4602

Many natural phenomena can be explained by understanding what happens on the molecular level.  Students will see these mysteries unravel as they study the interactions between and among different types of matter.  Students will be introduced to the basic concepts of inorganic chemistry, including but not restricted to:  atomic theory, periodicity, quantitative calculations in chemistry, writing and balancing equations, bonding theory, stoichiometry, acid and bases, solution chemistry, and ideal gas law applications.  The course will include extensive lab work relating the lecture material to real life situations.  Formal lab reports will be required.
