Advanced Placement Studio Art

This course is designed for the highly motivated art student committed to producing a quantity of quality, two-dimensional artwork. The student artist is required to create a portfolio of artwork over the course of the school year. Each portfolio will be compromised of three sections: A quality section made up of five matted works of art; The breath section made up of twelve slides showing diversity in a variety of mediums; and the third section: a series of twelve slides documenting an exploration by the student into a specific area of concentration designed by the student. Members of this class will be exposed to demonstrations and videos aimed at presenting a variety of approaches and techniques in drawing and painting.
